3M is fundamentally a science-based company that produces thousands of imaginative products and is a leader in scores of markets – from health care and highway safety to office products and abrasives and adhesives. The Project Objectives & Brief
3M Hellas wanted to redesign the canteen area in its whole. The reason for the renovation was to offer a better working environment to its employees, solve functionality issues but also use the specific area to carry out informal meetings. Creativity, teamwork, networking and bonding between employees were also an objective of the project.

Employee engagement and positive work experience are fundamental for the development of a company. Thus, when STIRIXIS Group was assigned to design the common canteen area of 3M, the concept was to offer to the employees the opportunity to be proud of the company they work for, but also embrace different interactions between employees, such as spontaneous conversation, relaxed and informal communication and networking.
The canteen area was designed in clear lines to express the cutting edge and innovative character of the company. At the same time, we balanced the whole style with an environment which is friendly and welcoming. The predominant colours are white and dark grey and are matched perfectly by our designers with more soft colours as well as wooden style flooring. Details of red are incorporated also to follow the colours of the company. The overall ambiance is open and vibrant and together with the environmental graphics a modern and convivial atmosphere is created.
Three different sitting areas were created, to answer in every arising need. An area with stand tables for a quick break, lunch tables and a lounge area with sofas for informal meetings and bonding between the employees.
